Priority Registration for Spring Courses

Priority registration started on November 9 for 2010 spring courses. Currently enrolled students receive notification in their myWSU to indicate their designated registration time.

Plan to register as soon as possible after this time to ensure the best chance of getting into the classes you need.

2009 Cougar Hardwood Classic Basketball

Bring your family to the Cougar Hardwood Classic basketball game festivities in Seattle on Tuesday, December 22. Mingle with fellow Cougs and meet Butch T. Cougar at a pre-game dinner and reception then watch the Cougars take on the Louisiana State University Tigers in the Key Arena.

Successful Launch

WSU's new Online MBA program starts fast and gains speed. Enrollment is predicted to triple next semester, and two top faculty members have signed on to teach courses.

2010-2011 Scholarship Application Deadline

Over 700 different scholarship programs are awarded each year through WSU. Scholarships are based on financial need, academic merit, talent, and/or community involvement. Apply by January 31. Scholarship Application



New Lifetime E-mail Account Service for All WSU Students

WSU has partnered with Microsoft to provide a free lifetime e-mail account for all students. All e-mail forwarding previously established was discontinued on May 18. Students are required to activate their new e-mail account to participate in DDP courses.

WSU Required Online Advising Orientation

If you are a new student advised through DDP you must successfully pass the Online Advising Orientation (AO 99) in Angel before you can register for courses. See information in your welcome packet for instructions on how to get started.



Online Media Center

Many DDP courses now have required media accessible from the online Media Center. Take a moment to check out the Technology Requirements Web page and try the online Media Center Speed Test to confirm that you can view online media successfully.

Closure of WSU Learning Centers

The budget cuts at Washington State University will result in the closure of most of the WSU Extension Learning Centers around Washington State by the end of the fall semester. Some will close more quickly than others, depending on lease obligation, staffing, and programs.



New Proctoring Locations Across Washington

With the impending closure of the learning centers, seven new proctoring locations have been set up. Additional options may be available in the near future. More information

Angel Learning Management System Replaces Blackboard

The Distance Degree Programs made the switch from Blackboard to the Angel (A New Global Environment for Learning) learning management system on May 11.

Pierce and Olympic Colleges Partner with DDP to Offer Co-Admission

Students attending Pierce College in Lakewood and Puyallup or Olympic College in Bremerton who are interested in pursuing a bachelor's degree in any one of the degree completion programs offered through DDP can now apply for co-admission. Seven colleges in Washington now offer co-admission with DDP.
